Greetings, friends. This weekend is shaping up to be a good one. That said, make sure to contact the organizers of the events below as the weekend nears—with the spread of the coronavirus, more and more large-scale gatherings are getting altered or canceled. For instance, I was planning to write about the Mid-American Conference basketball tournament at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse this week. Unfortunately, the games have been closed to the public.
United We Brunch

The Madison
I was impressed with this event when I attended two years ago. Sponsored by Scene Magazine, United We Brunch features food tastings, Bloody Marys, mimosas, beer and champagne. Twenty-one restaurants will be present, including Crust, Grumpy’s Cafe, Astoria, Burning River Bistro and Urban Farmer. The event benefits Providence House, who since 1981 has been committed to keeping kids safe and families together. Tickets range from $50 to $70 and can be purchased online.
Chocolate Fest Cleveland 2020

Lago East Bank
Cleveland sure has a lot of dessert-themed festivals (not that I’m complaining). The third annual Chocolate Fest Cleveland features chocolate vendors, beer, wine, a martini bar, live entertainment and a souvenir bag. There will be fun mini-events throughout the evening, including classes on truffle making, wine and chocolate pairings, and the healthy side of chocolates. Tickets range from $30 to $50 and can be purchased online.
Brunch Bingo

Slovenian National Home
Benefiting The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Brunch Bingo is a picnic-style, bring-your-own-beer event—in other words, guests bring their own food and alcohol. Prizes, such as designer purses, will be available. Tickets start at $30 and can be purchased here.
